In Music, Year 1 have been developing their musical skills by learning how to play both rhythmic and melodic ostinatos using a wide range of tuned and untuned percussion instruments. They have explored how different sounds can be layered to create patterns, and have enjoyed experimenting with tempo, pitch, and dynamics.
The children have shown fantastic focus and creativity, performing their short pieces with confidence and enthusiasm. It’s been wonderful to see their musical understanding grow as they begin to recognise and repeat rhythmic patterns!
