During the half-term holidays, we promoted with our school community ‘Uplift – The Rotherham Skate and Arts Festival’ Rotherham town centre became an urban playground with a pop-up skate park, floor murals, workshops, live music, DJs, and more!
Skating and BMX workshops were led by GB Olympic level pros Alex Hallford, Jordan Thackery, and Jack Clark! Children could bring their board or bike or go along and use the gear provided for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to skate with the pros! You could also book onto Stencil and Spray Painting Workshops.
Lots of children attended with their families, including Riley (Y5), Charlie (Y2), Mason (Y5), and Jasmine (Y5). According to parents, they absolutely loved it, meeting the pros, skating with them, and taking home their spray painting creations. They even went back the day after with more friends and sprayed their own skateboards.
