We are delighted to announce that Aston Hall has achieved the School Games PLATINUM Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
David Walker, from the School Games team said;
“Miss Davenport and Aston Hall fully deserve their Platinum Award for 2024/25 due to their commitment to the School Games over the years.
Their previous consecutive Gold Awards show the consistency, quality and depth of the PESSPA offer at Aston Hall– sport and physical activity are embedded in their school, with strong links to local clubs and providers to ensure interest is nurtured. Pupil development through sport is key; either through participation in events / competitions or through leadership – all children are able to access sport, exercise and physical activity at a level which is appropriate to them.
Their extracurricular offer, combined with their enriched PE curriculum, is inclusive and accessible with clear pathways for all, including G & T and SEND. They also have a focus on Active 60 minutes to ensure children have a platform to be physically active in a structured manner during break and lunch times.
Miss Davenport is the driving force behind the success of Aston Hall – as an SGO previously, she has continued to ensure the School Games are embedded across all aspects of the school. This is supported by a head teacher and SLT who believe in the vision and drive that every child deserves the opportunity to have positive experiences through PE & Sport.”
