Children’s Capital of Culture Festival of Sport

This week, Y5 and Y4 children who hadn’t yet represented our school in a sporting event had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the Festival of Sports 2025 celebration – and what a brilliant day it was!

The event took place at Herringthorpe Stadium, where students from across Rotherham gathered to celebrate sport, teamwork, and community spirit. One of the highlights of the day was witnessing the final stop of the Rotherham Capital of Culture baton relay.

Our children embraced the day with enthusiasm and positivity, trying out a range of exciting new sports and activities – including breakdancing and BMX biking, both of which proved to be huge hits! Whether it was balancing on beams, jumping through obstacle courses, or racing on two wheels, the children pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and gave it their all.

As always, Aston Hall represented our school with pride. They showed respect, kindness, and excellent sportsmanship – not only with their peers, but also with the staff and volunteers running the activities. Their attitude and behaviour throughout the day were exemplary, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Well done to all involved!
