Our Aston Hall Year 5/6 boys’ football team did us proud this week as they showcased fantastic skill, teamwork, and determination at the Waverley Academy Football Tournament.
Throughout the group stages, the boys played some brilliant football – scoring goals from a range of players and with Alfie pulling off some top class saves in goal. Their hard work paid off as they finished 2nd in their group with 9 points, securing a well-deserved place in the semi-finals.
The semi-final was an incredibly tense match that went all the way to penalties. Under huge pressure, the boys showed outstanding resilience and composure, eventually winning in sudden death.
In the final, Aston Hall faced a very strong St Albans side. Despite a tough game and an unfortunate loss, our boys never stopped battling, supporting one another, and giving their absolute best until the final whistle.
We are so proud of every single player for their effort, teamwork, and positive attitude throughout the tournament. Well done, lads – you represented Aston Hall brilliantly!
Finally, we’d like to say a big thank you to Waverley Junior Academy for hosting the tournament and giving our boys the chance to represent our school and enjoy such a great experience.
