Before half term, we were delighted to welcome Mark Dooley to our Careers assembly, linked to the subject of History. Mark, a lawyer at Favell Smith & Lawson Solicitors, spoke to the children about his journey – from school and further education to his current career in law.
Our pupils were fascinated to learn about what a lawyer does, the different areas of law they can work in, and even what lawyers wear in court! Mark also shared some “strange but true” facts that certainly caught everyone’s attention – and we discovered that some famous world leaders began their careers as lawyers, too.
A huge thank you to Mark for such an inspiring and informative visit!
If anyone else would like to help out with bringing our Careers Curriculum to life, we are still looking for visitors related to;
Art – are you an illustrator, animator, jewellery designer, SFX technician, art therapist, or do you work in another creative role?
ICT – does your job rely on computing? Are you a computing teacher, game designer, web designer, forensics officer, or similar
Please contact either Mrs Booth, Mr Holmes or the school office if you are able to share your experiences with our pupils in a short assembly.
