Science in Y3

In Science, Y3 have been learning all about the job of muscles and how they help our bodies move. To put their learning into action, the children worked in pairs to build their own moving elbow joint, using cardboard tubes to represent the bones and balloons to act as the muscles.

By inflating and deflating the balloons, they were able to see how muscles contract and relax to create movement. The activity was hands-on, engaging and helped the children really understand how the human body works.
