Before half term, Aston Hall Primary School celebrated Girls Week! From sports leadership to lunchtime activities and an exciting trip, our girls truly shone throughout.
Girls Week officially ran from Friday 20th to Friday 27th March, both in school and across Rotherham. The celebrations began with an assembly led by Miss Davenport, highlighting the importance of encouraging more girls to be active and inspiring everyone to get involved.
On Tuesday, our Year 5 girls sports leaders did a fantastic job supporting PE lessons alongside Mr Hill for KS1 pupils. They planned and set up their own activity stations, delivering them with energy and confidence. It was wonderful to see them taking on leadership roles and inspiring younger children.
Throughout the week, a variety of lunchtime activities were organised especially for girls, and the response was fantastic. Participation was so high that we even ran out of wristbands. The week ended on a high with a trip for 24 Year 5 and 6 pupils to the Big Sister event hosted by Places Leisure.
We are incredibly proud of all the girls for their enthusiasm, confidence, and teamwork. A huge thank you to the staff and students who made Girls Week 2026 such a success – it was truly a week to remember.
