We’ve launched our new novel study text, The Tunnel by Anthony Browne, and Year 1 were absolutely thrilled!
The children enjoyed reading the opening pages together, stopping at the moment the girl enters the tunnel. To bring the story to life, we then created our own tunnel in the classroom and everyone had the chance to travel through it.
Using four of their senses, the children described what the tunnel experience might be like, choosing exciting adjectives to support their writing. A fantastic start to our novel study lessons!
