Art in Y1

Recently, Y1 completed their Louis Masai Michel art project. The project began before Christmas, when pupils explored Michel’s artwork focusing on endangered animals. The children studied his patterns and recreated some of their favourite designs.

Next, they chose an animal to draw and practised until they were happy with their sketch. Once complete, they filled the surrounding space with intricate patterns inspired by Michel’s style. Now the final pieces are finished, and they look absolutely beautiful!
