Who lives in the woods?

This half term in FS2, we have been learning about woodland animals and the seasonal changes of Autumn. As part of last week’s learning, we focused on hedgehogs. The children know lots of facts about them, including the meaning of some scientific words like ‘nocturnal’ & ‘hibernation’ & ‘hoglets’.

We’ve even learned a little song ‘I’m a little hedgehog’ (to the tune of I’m a little teapot). We’ve also all been up into the ‘Wild Area’ to make a hedgehog hotel. We discussed what we needed to use to make the hedgehog home safe & warm and the children had a great time collecting the sticks and leaves to cover the home up. 🦔🍂🥰
