We are incredibly proud to share that, for the second year in a row, Aston Hall’s Eco-Council has been awarded the Green Flag Award!
This accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of the Eco-Council team, who have led a variety of initiatives to improve our school environment and support sustainability across the community. Their efforts strongly support WPT’s strategic priority of building environmentally responsible schools and promoting sustainability in education.
Â
Key highlights from our recent feedback include:
- Valuable contributions to litter picking, both on school grounds and in the local community
- Creative and informative posters encouraging staff and pupils to turn off lights, interactive whiteboards and taps
- Strong family engagement in the Big Battery Hunt, helping reduce harmful waste
- A successful bake sale raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
- Continued promotion of energy conservation throughout the school
- The establishment of an after-school gardening club that is improving our outdoor spaces and supporting the local environment
Â
These initiatives not only promote day-to-day sustainability but also help develop student leadership, community awareness and environmental responsibility. Our aim for the coming year is to continue building on this success and keep making a positive impact.
Well done to everyone involved!
