What an incredible start our FS2 children have made to their first year at Aston Hall! The children have settled in beautifully, quickly adapting to new routines and showing such enthusiasm for school life. We are so proud of how confident and curious they have been in just the first two weeks.
Our topic this half term is ‘Who Lives in the Woods?’ and this week the children have been captivated by the much-loved story ‘Owl Babies’. They have been talking about the characters, sharing their thoughts, and taking part in a range of creative activities linked to the book.
It’s been a week of exciting firsts – their very first PE lesson, first POPs outdoor session in the Wild Area, and their first phonics lessons – where they have already started recognising and writing their very first sounds. Alongside all of this, they’ve enjoyed lots of singing, story time, and fun both indoors and outdoors, making friends and exploring their new classroom spaces.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year. Well done!
