Last week, the children explored the work of the artist Andy Goldsworthy and were inspired to create their own natural, transient art pieces. Goldsworthy is known for using natural materials to make beautiful, temporary artworks, and the children really enjoyed experimenting with this idea.
They also listened to the story “Leaf Man,” which is filled with imaginative leaf-based characters. This sparked lots of creative ideas and encouraged them to think carefully about the materials they could use in their own creations.
Throughout the week, the children considered the shapes, colours, and patterns they could make with natural materials such as leaves, sticks, and stones. Everyone had a fantastic time exploring art in the outdoors and learning how to use nature as their canvas. Well done to all the children for their enthusiasm, creativity, and careful attention to detail!
