What a wonderful week we’ve had in EYFS! To celebrate Lunar New Year, the children have been fully immersed in the sights, sounds, and tastes of this wonderful festival.
Since 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, we’ve been focusing on “galloping” into new adventures. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:
- The Great Race: We acted out the story of the Chinese Zodiac. Ask your child which animal won the race and how the clever Rat managed to beat the strong Ox!
- Horse Play: In honour of the Horse, we’ve been practising our physical skills with “hoofbeat rhythms” and galloping races in the garden.
- Creative Spark: Our art table has been a sea of red and gold! We’ve made beautiful lanterns and fiery horse masks using bright oranges and reds.
- Lucky Red Envelopes: Every child explored the tradition of Hongbao (red envelopes), which are given to bring luck and happiness.
It has been a fantastic week full of learning, creativity, and fun!
